Barbecue at the Woodland Lodge

Welcome to Woodland Lodge, the Dandelion's residence in Corntopville!
There is something going on there! Let's take a closer look!

-Hey! They're here, they're here!

-Ah, yes! Look darling they're here!

But of course, it's their cousins, the Dappledawns! They are here at last for the barbecue!

-Welcome cousin Theodora!
-Sorry for being a bit late dear! Lately I can never be on time with the twins!
-No problem at all! I really understand! Oh they are adorable!

-Hi Aster!
-Hi Tilly, love your dress!

-Hi cousin Burdock, I can see you have already started the grilling! They look delicious!
-My pleasure Herbage, make yourself at home!

-I brought some cold beers!
-Oh thanks, I really need one! Cheers!

The beautiful yard is perfect for a barbecue party!... Someone can't wait for the food to be served!

-The burgers are ready children!
-Can I take one first? I really feel soo hungry right now...
-Haha, of course Radish, here grab the big one!

-Aww, thank you guys for the invitation! Those appetizers are fantastic! I will definitely need the recipes Angelica!

The food was delicious. Everyone seemed to enjoy the lovely sunny day!

The meal was over and the parents with the babies went inside for a quick nap! But the kids took advantage to play undisturbed in the yard!
The girls played some rounds of 'snakes and ladders'...

...while the boys had fun playing with their rackets!

After a while the babies woke up and came out to play too!

And then...dad Burdock appeared on the front door with his guitar!
-Let's have a real party everyone!

Dad Herbage grabbed the accordion, Tilly took the maracas, baby Donna found a toy tambourine and they all started playing a cheerful melody!

-In a few moments they all started singing and dancing to the rhythm! The party went on for hours. Everyone had a wonderful time!

.................THE END...........

There´s so much going on at Woodland Lodge! The house is so beautiful and the garden is amazing. I wish I could live in a place like that.
I´m spending a few days with my parents and I´ve just shown your pictures to them. They were really impressed at your brilliant photos! :<3:
My mother says your critters seem to be alive! :)
The effects are great! The dice, the tennis ball, the smoke, that snail... Awesome!
I love the fence, very clever. If you don´t mind I think I´m going to copy your idea.
Looking at your pictures makes me feel good! The Dandelions and the Dappledawns look so happy and relaxed!
    Thank you for sharing!

What a beautiful barbecue. Definitely made me feel happy to see your photos! You must have had a big tabletop to set all this up on!

Your families always feel so authentic - I love the yoyo over the porch rail, that's exactly what you'd find my boys doing!

Thankyou for sharing with us. :)

I love the scene! So authentic, and it involves my favourite families! It is also a little bit of a coincidence, because I have just started to gather material for my diorama, and it involves this house ( well, not exactly- I just have a fakie version of this lodge, which looks almost the same, just has a bit different colours-white windows and doors, and mine is missing a porch). If you don't mind me asking, have you made the little roof over that front room? And did the doors on the balcony come with this house, or did you make them? Most of the lodges I see on pictures have an open space there. I am just curious  I think this house is beautiful, and you made it look cosy with the ivy and flowers on the balcony ( that is something I was planning to do as well  )
I love all the pictures, epecially one with fathers drinking bear, the snail, the baby and tambourine, and I like the look of the guitar, I have never seen a sylvanian guitar before.
Have you ever thought of making a book with all your photos and stories?

One of my favourite houses, & the first SF house I ever owned was one of these!
Did you photoshop or make the second story door? Good job either way!!

  2. Thanks a lot Helly, very flattering words! The Dandelion (Ivory) Rabbits are one of my most favorite families! Love their ears so cute!
Thanks Cutata for sharing the photos with your parents, that's very sweet, sending them my best wishes! I've always wanted to make a nice yard for this wonderful house! For the fence I used a bamboo table mat that I easily cut with scissors in stripes. Of course you can use it, I'm happy to share new ideas with everyone

Thank you guys, I appreciate all the feedback and I really like that you have questions for me to answer!
Terra: Many thanks, I really find those two rabbit families especially cute  because of their bent ears and I've always thought that they're some kind of closer relatives!
Jim: So glad you like it, thanks, this is the Noch grass mat I use in many of the photos I hope you take an idea!
DivaJean: The baby girl bunny is indeed very sweet, it is actually a Butterglove rabbit from the 'bath time with mother' UK set but the real ivory baby I have has no movable limps so I used her to make the dance move!
Piffle: I used most of my dining table's space to set this up, here is a big picture, I must work more on the mountains they are just made from brown Ikea shop bags!

Maria1976: I added the roof at the front room because I think it looks better and matches with the roof of the side porch! It's a printed paper I found at a bookstore with a roof tiles pattern. The little guitar is not a sylvanian item it is just a miniature I found on ebay long ago but fits perfectly with sylvanian size!
As for the door on the balcony (I am answering Chill's question too), it's a real door that I found at a playmobil building (the sheriff's office I think) and I attached it in the original gap with a piece of hard paper from a packaging box. The green color and size are perfect! :) I really couldn't think of a better way to cover this gap- I tried to put a curtain but it didn't look right because of the angle of the roof ceiling!
Oh and just one tip: I usually place a paper sheet on the open back of the buildings so that the background is no visible through the windows and gives more the impression of a solid structured house! ;)

I really needed this thread of yours this morning, Sylvanako! Am going through a rough patch right now and by page 20 I already started to feel a bit better. By the time I reached page 50, my worries didn't even seem so bad and by the end of the thread, I just about feel up to facing the day.
Big hugs Santie and stay strong! Keeping our minds away from stressful situations, even for a while, always helps! I find myself browsing through sylvanian sites during those hectic days too!
    Take care my friend!
